Join us as we celebrate and honor Kay Ely upon her retirement from federal service.
Effective October 1, Kay will move from her current position as the Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Information Technology Category (ITC) in GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) to a task force set to merge some operations of OPM into GSA. After this 90-day detail, she will retire from the federal government.
As Assistant Commissioner, Kay manages the largest fee-for-service IT procurement and services operation in the U.S. government. She leads a highly-skilled and diverse workforce that manages more than 7,000 contracts, providing access to relevant and timely IT and telecommunications products, services and solutions to defense and civilian agencies, as well as to state, local, and tribal governments.
Before her tenure at GSA’s ITC, Kay served as the Chief Learning Officer at the Office of Personnel Management, where she developed and set the strategic direction of OPM’s learning and knowledge management program. During her tenure with OPM she also served as an Associate Director where she was responsible for providing Federal employees, annuitants and their families with a variety of quality benefits options, as well as retirement processing services.
This After Hours event is primarily networking-focused event facilitating one-on-one conversations. In addition, there will be a brief 15-20 minute program in the middle of the event (around 7 pm) that will provide our featured guest with seven to ten minutes to share some of their success stories and advice to the next generation of IT professionals and change agents and answer questions. This event is targeted for people developing their IT government or contractor careers in public service, as well as experienced professionals with experience that they are willing to share. We believe that Federal public service is supported by Federal employees and their supporting contractors.
This is a widely attended gathering. There will be a cash bar at this event.
This event is part of an annual series of AFFIRM After Hours Networking events, offering our members and guests the chance to connect after working hours. CIOs and other IT professionals from many Federal agencies will be in attendance, along with partners from the IT industry with whom to network and interact.
There is no cost to register. A cash bar will be available at the City Club. Registration is strongly requested, but not required.
