Scholarship Program

2026 Applications are open - Due Friday, May 15th

  • ESSAY TOPIC: Describe an experience you had that helped develop your passion for a potential career in STEM. How do you plan to utilize a career in STEM to positively impact the US in the future?
  • ESSAY REQUIREMENTS: The essay must be typed and doubled-space. The font must be 12 point Times New Roman with 1 inch margins and no more than 500 words in length.

 

AFFIRM’s scholarship program supports STEM educational opportunities for students attending District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia accredited institutions. Each year, AFFIRM awards scholarships to promote the continued education of well-deserving students. AFFIRM annually determines the dollar amount of scholarships based on financial contributions received by the organization.

AFFIRM Annual Scholarship – Both high school seniors and current undergraduate students are eligible for this scholarship. The applicants must be pursuing a college or university degree with a major in computer sciences, information sciences, or any STEM-related field. Previous AFFIRM Annual Scholarship recipients may not reapply.

Art & Ronnie Chantker AFFIRM College Scholarship – Only high school seniors from Ward 7 or 8 in the District of Columbia are eligible for this scholarship. The DC Ward 7 or 8 high school applicant must be planning to attend a four-year nonprofit college or university, majoring in computer sciences, information sciences, or any STEM-related field in the fall semester.
